Scrappy Snail's Trail
September 1996, I attended Quilt Camp in Minneapolis organized by Helen Kelley. I took a class with Judy Florence and we worked with the Virginia Reel or Snail's Trail block. She encouraged the use of plaids and I found I really liked the mixture of all the different fabrics. This was machine quilted and I used Warm and Natural Batt. This quilt is 76” by 52”.
World Without End
Except for the borders, this quilt is constructed using half square triangles. I paper pieced the HST using Triangles on a Roll grid paper. I started this quilt in June 1996 and was finished April, 1997. Machine quilted. This quilt is 88” by 67”.
This Old Barn
I participated in Arlene Stamper’s barn swap at Quilt Camp in the Pines 2000. Machine quilted on a long arm by Cynthia Smith. I gave this quilt to my cousin who lives in Batavia New York. Pam works on a dairy farm.

Hearts and Flowers
My sister, Lucie, died January 10, 2010. Lucie made a few quilts in her lifetime but her real passion was playing bridge. She was a Life Master with the American Contract Bridge League. I found three 2 yard pieces of fabric in her sewing room, the floral, red and lavender. I decided to make a quilt using those fabrics. The blocks are 6” finished. Machine quilted by Jessica Jones. Quilt finished in 2010. Finished quilt is 61” by 73”.
This quilt was designed by Buggy Barn. The hearts were made with 27 different batik fabrics. Quilted on a longarm by Jessica Jones Gamez in 2012. The quilt is 48 1/2” by 74”
Ruff Around the Edges
This quilt will be donated to Leader Dogs for the Blind, Rochester Hills Michigan. The quilt will be part of Lead in the Holidays silent auction held November 22, 2013. This quilt was designed by Karen Brow of Java House Quilts. The dogs were machine appliquéd using Floriani embroidery thread. Quilted on a longarm by Jessica Gamez. Quilt was started March 2013 and finish September 2013. The quilt is 45 1/2” by 54”
Black and White and Read All Over
The quilt name is based on the old riddle - What is black and white and read all over? The answer is a newspaper because of the identical pronunciation of read and red. Quilt design by Jean Ann Wright in Jelly Roll Jambalaya Quilts. Jessica Jones Gamez did the beautiful machine quilting with red thread. The quilt is 62" by 47”, finished January 2016.
